An eventful Saturday….

Pictures don’t do it justice

Typical phrase when you travel…. and is SO true when touring Paris, or France in general.

Here’s a photo/video story of an eventful Saturday….

Headed over to Notre Dame Cathedral to meet up with Susan and Matt. I’d never been so we waited the 10 minutes in what seemed like a long line but surprisingly it went pretty quick.

Lunch followed with a pint of some pretty potent beer, Mutzig

Interesting sentence I read about this type of beer:

”There are two different types of Mutzig; the regular one and Mutzig Old Lager, which is the really potent one! Mutzig may vary in strength but all we know is that it will most likely affect you in a way you are not used to so be careful when you drink it. There’s a very clear reason why most people choose to drink this fantastic beer in demis not pints!”

This explains alot!

As you walk up the stairs of the Metro, the Moulin of Moulin Rouge is directly in front of you.

Insanely cute little old man played the accordion as we were walking up to ‘La butte de Montmartre’.
Had a perma smile the rest of the day!

It’s the little things in Paris… or at times, the people. ♥

We walked into the Basilica and noticed there was some sort of protest outside… so we walked in and as we were walking in, we heard a big bang… and all of a sudden people started rushing in. The police had put off some gas bombs. The protesters were getting a little our of hand. We took a ‘private’ door, walked through a corridor to a staircase by an actual nun. Once outside the fence door to get out was locked until the nun came to open it up for us and there were policement everywhere. So we hightailed it out of Montmartre. But not before buying macarons and eclairs first. (no photo)

The gates we eventually had to have open for us.

We stopped to buy a bottle of rosé on the way to the metro en direction to the Parc Monceau….
All of a sudden, the metro stopped in between stations due to power failure. haha. Couldn’t believe our luck!!!
So after 10 minutes in the heat and humid metro, we inched forward to the next station and got out early. We decided to just walked to the park.

On one of the last days with Matt and Susan, we went for steak. My treat! My cheeks hurt the next day from laughing so much.

Was another fantastic day and was sad to see them go!!! 😦

But SO SO happy to have finally met them and spend some quality Parisian time with people who can appreciate Paris for what it is! 🙂
